Krillion Scoring System

Rarer answers score more points; every point is 10 meters of depth.

How scoring works

Krillion inverts normal trivia: common answers float, rare answers sink. When you submit, your word is compared against every valid answer all players submitted that day, and its frequency decides the tier and points. Every point converts to 10 metres of depth — up to 100 points per prompt and 700 per daily dive.

The 6 rarity tiers

Deep Cut85850 m1–5%Genuinely obscure picks most players never consider.
Rare60600 m5–15%Uncommon answers only a few players land on.
Schooler30300 m15–35%Solid, middling picks many players share.
Too Clever15150 mtrapOverthought picks everyone else also thought of.
Plankton10100 m>35%The most obvious first-thought answers.

Three ways to score zero

  • Timeout: the 15–20 second clock ends before you submit.
  • Typo: the word is not in the accepted answer list.
  • Off-prompt: a valid word that does not fit the category.

💡 The Too Clever band is the quiet score-killer — words famous from pub quizzes and social media feel rare but thousands of players type them anyway.

The 7,000 m Perfect Dive

A daily dive tops out at 700 points = 7,000 m, the Trench Floor. The calculator scale for total dives: 0–2,000 m Sunlight & Twilight Zone, 2,000–5,000 m Midnight Zone, 5,000–7,000 m Abyssal & Hadal Zone — try your totals in the score calculator.
